Situated 3,5 kilometers far from Kolymbari and 28 from Chania, at the West, Afrata is a sandy beach in a small cove with clear water, not affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds), within a wild but very beautiful landscape.

The beach is less organised, with a cantina for some fast food and cold drink as well as some facilities for swimming and sunbathing.

Access is possible from Kolymbari by rented or private car and motorbike. Drivers should be cautious, as the secondary road is asphalted but narrow, with sharp bends.
