Once in the area, the lake is worth visiting for the unique flora and fauna and the marvelous landscape. Swimming in the lake is allowed, and small boats can take you for a tour. A few taverns with delicious dishes including fish from the lake are available.

Don’t miss to visit the homonymous cave at Keratide, by the road leading from the village Kavallos (near the lake) to the village of Kournas. And, if you decide to drive for 3-4 kilometers more towards the village Patima, at the south of the lake, you will be rewarded by the fascinating natural environment and the impressive oak tree wood you will find there.
