Situated in the city of Chania, at the west of the Venetian walls, Nea Chora is a sandy beach with shallow water suitable for children. The beach is affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds). It is very popular to the Chania residents.

Well organised, it offers accommodation facilities, food and drink, especially fresh fish, and facilities for swimming and sunbathing ( sun beds, umbrellas).

Further to the west you will find a long sandy stretch, without any facilities, but calmer and with much fewer people.

Access to the beach is possible by public bus, taxi, private or rented car and motorbikes as well as on foot.
