Further to the west you will find a long sandy stretch, without any facilities, but calmer and with much fewer people.
Access to the beach is possible by public bus, taxi, private or rented car and motorbikes as well as on foot.
Chania beach (eastern to the Venetian Walls)
Within the Chania city, eastern of the Venetian Walls, there is a beach, which is not proper for swimming because of the extensive pollution of the water; the beach is also affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds).
Well organised, it offers accommodation facilities, food and drink, especially fresh fish. However, it is not so popular because of the pollution of the water.
Access to the beach is possible by public bus, private or rented car and motorbikes and on foot. |
