Situated 13 kilometers far from Chania, at the West, just off the Old National Road to Kissamos (Kastelli), Gerani is a sandy beach at the northern coast, so it is affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds).

The beach is well organised and offers accommodation facilities. Food and drink are available at the sea front taverns and bars; the visitor can also find facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas, sea sports etc).

Access from Chania is possible by public bus, with regular service, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike.
