The ower, Ismini Botonaki, who speaks good english, lives between the guest house and the beach apartments and is always there to take care of her guests and assist them to small holiday problems.Situated in the heart of Kalives, on the island of Crete, Ismini Apartments hold a unique waterfront position on the west end of the town's long, golden beach.
An immaculate half-acre lawned garden, screened by a ring of oleander and mulberry trees, is all that separates it from the beach.
There are three properties:
The Guest House, which sleeps 4-5 (75 sm), and two Beach Apartments, which both sleep 3-4 (45 sm each).
All have: ● air conditioning and ● satellite TV (only free to air programms from HotBird and Astra 1), ● outside eating spaces, ● and sun loungers ● and umbrellas for use either in the garden or on the beach.
There is also a playground for children.
Kalives is a wonderful destination in its own right, and makes an ideal base for exploring un-spoilt western Crete.
The long sandy Blue Flag beach is edged with trees offering day-long shade and ringed with enticing cafes and taverns.
Its gentle slope makes it ideal for small children and those who like to pause before plunging into the sea. Shops in the old town, where Ismini Apartments is situated, offer a wide range of holiday necessities and luxuries, wonderful fresh bread, delicious local fruit, vegetables, cheese and wine, English and German books, beach toys etc.
Kalives lies on the Akrotiri peninsula with its many small hill villages and stunning scenery. It is less that half an hour's drive from the wonderful old Venetian town of Chania, and within easy reach of some spectacular walking country, including the Imbros and Samaria gorges.
A stay at Ismini Apartments, is especially relaxing for families with young children. There is a travel cot, bed rail and highchair. The terraces offer shade all day, and the garden (partial shade in the afternoon) is a fantastic space for playing games. The beach -particularly at the very sheltered eastern end- is perfect for small children. The shops are within easy reach of even the littlest legs. And for those who prefer to linger over their food once the children are in bed, but who don't want to cook, next door local taverns will bring the food to your terrace!.
