Marathi beach, Chania Crete |

Approximately 12 kilometers far from Chania at the East, it is found the small fine sandy beach of Marathi (South coast of Akrotiri Peninsula), well protected and not affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds). The beach is very popular and frequented much by locals especially on weekends because of the shallow water, which is ideal for small children. |

Accommodation facilities are available, in hotels and rooms to let; some restaurants, taverns and cafes offer food and drink. The beach is organised with sun beds and sea sport facilities. Access from Chania is possible by taxi and rented or private car and motorbike. |
