Menies or Diktynna is a beach situated over 45 kilometers far from Chania, at the Northwest, 23 kilometers far from Kolymbari. It is a pebbly, remote beach with clear water and usually few people; it is protected enough and it is not affected by the “meltemia”. Near the beach there are the ruins of the temple of Artemis.

Access is possible only by a 4WD car , as well as by private or rented special motorbikes, since the 23 kilometers unasphalted road, usually being in bad condition, is difficult for conventional vehicles.
