Not much organised, the beach does not offer swimming
and sunbathing facilities (sunbeds, ubrellas) nor sea sport facilities;
but the sea is crystal clear and the beach quiet enough without big
crowds of visitors.
A few rooms to let are available for accommodation in the small settlement
at the beach; in the few taverns of the settlement the visitor may enjoy
fresh fish, tasty local dishes and, of course abundant Cretan wine and
"tsikoudia".
Eastern to the beach it is found the exit of the Arvi gorge, as well
as the homonymous Monastery. Choosing this place for staying, the visitor
will find a combination of marvellous sea and calmness, with a magnificent
natural environmet and sightseeing.
Access from Heraklion is possible only by rented or private cars and
motorbikes, via the village of Viannos. |
