Situated some 75 kilometres far from Heraklion at the Southwest and 30 kilometres southern to Mires and western to the nearby beach of Lentas, Diskos is a beautiful, quiet enough beach, affected by the winds.

Not much organised, it offers some accommodation in rooms to let, but no swimming or sea sport facilities. There are a few taverns with fresh sea food and drink. The eastern part of the beach is nudism tolerant. Access from Heraklion is possible only by private or rented cars and motorbikes.
