Close to the inland towns, the beach is organised well enough. The visitor will find accommodation facilities in hotels and rooms to let at a short distance from the beach. Fish taverns offer good sea food. Swimming and sunbathing facilities (sunbeds, umbrellas etc) are available, as well as seasport facilities. The swimmers are advised to be cautious when entering the sea, because of the flat slippery rocks of the seabed at the shallows. Access from Heraklion is possible mainly by private or rented cars and motorbikes. |
