Successive to the beach of Afratia and Kokkinos Pyrgos, within the open Messara bay, this beach is situated some some 69 kilometres far from Heraklion at the Southwest and 3 kilometres western to Tymbaki. The beach is open to the South and affected by the strong winds blowing in the area.

Not much organised, the beach is close enough to Tymbaki and closer to the small port of Kokkinos Pyrgos. The beach itself does not offer accommodation and food and drink facilities, but in short distance you will find hotels and rooms to let, as well as some fish taverns. Access from Heraklion is possible mainly by rented or private cars and motorbikes.
