Close to the inland towns, and to Matala, the
beach is fairly well organised. The visitor will find accommodation facilities
in hotels and rooms to let at a short distance from the beach.
Fish taverns offer good sea food. Apart from the magnificent sea, you
will also find some swimming and sunbathing facilities. The beach one
of the few beaches of the prefecture nudism tolerant.
Access from Herkleio is very easy by public buses with frequent service,
as well as by private or rented car and motorbikes up to Matala and then
on foot (a few minutes walk. If you are ...lazy enough to walk, you can
reach the beach by boat, taking one of the excursion boats at Matala. |
