It is also worth visiting the small villages of
Ano Kalessia, within an area full of vineyards, and Kato Kalessia, with
the church of Panaghia going back to the 14th century. Both are found
at a distance of 11-12 kilometres far from Linoperamata at the South.
It is in these villages that takes place the feast of the sultana raisin,
organised every year by the Cultural Centre of the villages, in early
August.
Lodging is plenty in Linoperamata. A lot of hotels of all categories
and for all budgets, rooms to let, studios and houses are available for
tourists.
Swimming and sea sport facilities are offered at the beaches of the settlement
as well as at the nearby Amoudara and Palaeokastro.
Eating is an easy thing: a wide range of taverns and restaurants, cafes
and bars are ready to offer their delicacies.
Access from Herkleio is very easy by public buses with frequent service
and taxi, as well as by private or rented car and motorbikes. |
