Situated 3 kilometres eastern to the beach of Lentas, some 78 kilometres far from Heraklion at the South and 33 kilometres southern to Mires, the beach of Ostria is a beautiful pebbly beach affected by the winds blowing in the area. Due to the rocky seabed, it is ideal for snorkelling.

The eastern part of the beach is nudism tolerant.  Not very organised, it offers only a few rooms to let for accommodation and some taverns with fresh sea food. Facilities for swimming, sunbathing  and sea sports, are not available at this beach.

Access from Heraklion or Mires is possible only by rented or private cars and motorbikes. After Lentas the road unasphalted: an easy dirt track, 3 kilometres long.
