Lychnostatis beach, Heraklion Crete |
Just after Lychnostatis, the Folk Museum of Limenas Chersonissou, at a distance of some 28 kilometres far from Heraklion at the East, there are a couple of small beaches, open to the Cretan Sea and affected by the northern winds. |

No accommodation or food and drink is available at the beaches, nor facilities for swimming and sunbathing. Due to their small size and the lack of facilities they are usually quiet. Occasionally the beaches are sandy, but usually the winter gales and the high waves sweep over the sand and it is more likely to find them pebbly. Access from Heraklion is possible by public bus, taxi and rented and private cars and motorbikes. |
