Stalida beach, Heraklion Crete |
The beach of Stalida is a shallow, sandy beach in front of the resort, it is open to the North and fully affected by the northern winds; when there is wind, wonderful huge waves break on the coast, giving a fascinating impression; however, in such cases swimming is dangerous, especially for the less experienced swimmers who should be very cautious and comly with the lifesavers' instructions. |

Very well organised and close enough to Heraklion, the beach can satisfy all the needs of the visitors in accommodation ( a wide range of lodging in hotels, studios and rooms to let), food and drink as well as in swimming and sea sport facilities. And, if you feel like wandering around, the beaches of Malia at the East and those of Chersonissos at the West, offer very good alternatives. Access from Heraklion is possible by public bus, taxi and rented and private car and mortorbikes. The beaches of the area are all beautiful, some of them sandy and suitable for swimming and others rocky and ideal for snorkelling. |
