Although not fully organised, the beach presents many advantages. Being between Istro and Pachia Ammos (at a distance of 7,5 kilometers at the West and 3,5 kilometers at the East, respectively) and in front of a camping, it offers various accommodation facilities and good food and drink; besides, it is a nice beach. For swimming you have also the alternatives of Istro and Pachia Ammos.
Being around, don’t miss to visit the homonymous important archaeological site, where it has been excavated a Late Minoan settlement.
A local feast (“panighyri”) takes place on the 15 th of August, in honor of the Assumption of Holy Mary, at the Monastery of Faneromeni, 8 kilometers southwestern to the beach.
Access from Aghios Nicolaos is possible by public bus, running regularly, taxi and rented or private car and motorbikes. |
