Ierapetra, center
The sandy beach in front of the center of the town is found at a distance of 35 kilometers far from Aghios Nicolaos at the South; it is well protected from the winds blowing in the area.

As the beach is situated within the town, all facilities for accommodation, food, drink and amusement are available. You will find hotels of any category and rooms to let. Many restaurants, traditional taverns, bars, cafes open all day round, give to the visitor several alternatives for food and drink and nightlife and amusement. You may also swim at the beach, that starts from the eastern end of the town and is extended at a length of a several kilometers; well-organised in the major part, the beach offers swimming and sunbathing facilities, as well as facilities for sea sports.

Access to the beach from Aghios Nicolaos is possible by public bus, with regular service and by rented or private car and motorbikes. From Ierapetra, you will reach the beach also on foot.

Ierapetra, long beach at the East of the town
The long sandy beach starting at the eastern end of the town and extended several kilometers eastwards, is found at a distance of 35 kilometers far from Aghios Nicolaos at the South; the beach is open to the South and affected by the winds blowing in the area.

As the beach is found very close to Ierapetra, all facilities for accommodation, food, drink and amusement are available. You will find hotels of any category and rooms to let. Many restaurants, traditional taverns, bars, cafes open all day round, give to the visitor several alternatives for food and drink and nightlife and amusement. Well-organised in the major part, the beach offers swimming and sunbathing facilities, as well as facilities for sea sport. It is very popular, but, due to its length, it hardly gets crowded. The eastern end of the beach is not organised; no umbrellas and sunbeds are available; as a result is much less frequented. If you stay in Ierapetra and feel like not leaving the town, you may choose to swim at the beach found in front of the center of the town.

Access from Aghios Nicolaos is possible by rented or private car and motorbikes. From Ierapetra, you may also reach the beach on foot, or use the public bus or a taxi.

Ierapetra, anonymous beach at the East
Eastern to Ierapetra, at the 6 th kilometer of the road leading to Koutsounari, you will find a remote, almost forgotten, nice, sandy beach. The beach is affected by the winds blowing in the area.

Not organised at all, it doesn’t offer any kind of facilities, apart from the crystal clear, cool sea and the fascinating deep blue of the Libyan Sea. If you come here it is only for that, after you have found accommodation and food facilities either in Ierapetra, or in the nearby resort of Koutsounari (1-2 kilometers at the East). The beach is one of the most beautiful of the area, offering calmness and privacy; thus, it is clothing optional.
