The beach itself is not organised, but as it is very close to all the tourist resorts of the area, the visitor may choose from a wide range of hotels of all categories and rooms to let for accommodation. Food, drink, amusement and nightlife are never a problem; Koutsounari, Aghia Fotia and Ierapetra are at a distance of a few minutes drive. Swimming is marvelous at this beach, without facilities for sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas), but with the natural shade of the tamarisk trees. And, if you feel like bored of this beach, you have several alternatives for swimming at the beaches (organised or not) of Ierapetra at the West, up to Makrygialos at the East.
Access from Aghios Nicolaos is possible by rented or private car and motorbikes. From Ierapetra you can also catch the public bus to Sitia, or use a taxi. |
