Mochlos beach, Lassithi Crete |
Situated at a distance of 48 kilometers eastern to Aghios Nicolaos and 34 kilometers western to Sitia, Mochlos is a beach with fine pebbles, western to the homonymous small scenic fishermen settlement. It is affected by the winds blowing in the area. The beach is organised well enough, but also suitable for those looking for calmness. A few hotels and rooms to let are available in the village, suitable for families or solitary vacations, not far from the big tourist resorts and the interesting places of the prefecture. You will enjoy good seafood and fresh fish at the taverns of the village. The sea is beautiful, you are far from the big crowds and you have some swimming and sunbathing facilities (umbrellas, sunbeds). And, if you think you are a good swimmer, you may try to swim to the small island, at a distance of a few hundred meters from the beach, where you may see the ruins of the Minoan settlement. |
