If you are fan of archaeology, don’t miss to visit the islet of Aghios Nicolaos. Apart from swimming in a crystal clear sea, you may see the family burials of the Early Minoan period. As it is evidenced by the rich finds, the burials belonged to some powerful families of the area. You may also see the ruins of the Middle ant Late Minoan settlements.
If you feel like strolling around, drive to the small village of Lastros, 9 kilometers far from Mochlos at the South; it is worth seeing the Byzantine church of Aghios Georghios (St. George), where you will also see a decorated Venetian bell, dated to the early 17 th century.
At a short distance far from Mochlos there are three small scenic villages worth visiting: Sfaka, 6,5 kilometers at the Southeast, Tourloti, 10 kilometers far away, also at the Southeast and Myrsini, at a distance of 13 kilometers at the East, with several old churches and a magnificent view of the Mirambelon Bay.
In case of emergency, a Medical Center is available in Tourloti, some 10 kilometers far from Mochlos at the Southeast.
A series of cultural activities are organised in the nearby village of Myrsini, some 13 kilometers at the East.
