The long sandy beach of Sitia is found 65 kilometers eastern to Aghios Nicolaos, just at the eastern exit of the town, on the way to Vai. The beach is open to the North and affected by the winds blowing in the area.

You will swim at one of the clearest beaches, not only of Crete and Greece, but also possibly of the whole Mediterranean Sea. And you will not feel like stuffed of sunbeds and umbrellas, as there are more “natural” parts. And, if you feel like changing place, you may pop round eastwards to Petras, one kilometer far from the town, to Aghia Fotia (not the homonymous one of the South, of course!), at a distance of 5 kilometers; or, you may choose to go westwards to Aghioi Pantes, 7 kilometers far from the town, to Platani, at a distance of 9 kilometers and to Papadiokambos, 12 kilometers far from Sitia.
