The beach of Geropotamos is found some 20 kilometers far from Rethymnon at the East, just off the National Road to Heraklion, beneath the Geropotamos Bridge. It is a sandy and partly pebbly beach, open to the North and affected by the "meltemia" (northern summer winds).

Less organised, it offers some accommodation facilities in hotels and taverns for food and drink. Facilities for swimming, sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas) and sea sports are also available.
