villas are located in the traditional historical village of
Roustika, at an altitude of 300m from sea level, 20km away from
the town of Rethymno. Abelos consists of two traditional, independent,
stone-built villas that date back to 1810. The villas were fully
renovated in 2003, in order to provide all modern comforts but
always in conjunction with respect towards the traditional Cretan
architecture, offering a real trip back in time. |

first villa is in size of 65m2 and can accommodate up to 4 guests.
It consists of a spacious sitting room with fireplace, air-condition,
dining room, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, electric
cooker, and fridge. From two internal staircases you have access
to the two traditional bedrooms (wooden sleeping lofts) with
double beds. Under, the first staircase there is a WC/bath and
under the second one there is a WC/shower.
The villa can also offer you a satellite TV, a CD-player, hair-drier,
washing machine and telephone facilities.

second villa is in size of 100m2 and can accommodate up to
6 guests. On the ground floor there is a sitting room with
fireplace and air-condition, dining room, fully equipped open-plan
kitchen with dishwasher, electric cooker, and fridge, WC/shower
and one bedroom with double bed, air-condition and WC/shower
en suite. From a wooden staircase you have access to the first
floor where there are two bedrooms, one with double bed and
the other with two single beds, both with air-condition as
well as a further WC/shower. Both bedrooms share one big veranda.

 Although
Roustika is a pole of attraction for tourists, it maintains
its traditional character. Here you will find the famous monastery
dedicated to the prophet Ilias, built in 1200, the church
of Panagia, dedicated to the Holly Mother, which was built
in 1100 as well as a museum of traditional costumes, where
costumes from all over Greece are exhibited.

in the traditional Cretan taverns, or relax in the cafes,
inside the village.
