Koumbes beach, Rethymnon Crete |

At a distance of some 2 - 3 kilometers from the center of Rethymnon it is found the sandy beach of Koubes, awarded by the blue flag. Open to the North, the beach is affected by the "meltemia" (northern summer winds). |

Well organised, it offers accommodation facilities, food and drink, as well as facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas) and some sea sports. Access from Rethymnon is possible by public bus, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike, but also on foot (some 20 minutes walk). |
