Panormos beach, Rethymnon Crete |

The beach of Panormos is situated in front of the homonymous scenic village, at a distance of 22 kilometers far from Rethymnon at the East , just off the National Road to Heraklion. It is a sandy beach, affected by the "meltemia" (northern summer winds). Well organised, it offers accommodation facilities and food and drink in the sea front taverns and the taverns and cafes of the village. Some swimming, sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas) and sea sport facilities are also available. |

Apart from the main beach in front of the village, those who like calmness can find at the West a few coves, with pebbles, less crowded and not much organised. The coves are accessible via the dirt track leading to the West. Access from Rethymnon is possible by public bus, with regular service, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike. |
