Situated 2 kilometers far from Rethymnon at the East, the beach of Perivolia is in fact part of the long sandy beach of Rethymnon. Being open to the North it is affected by the "meltemia" (northern summer winds).
It is a very well organised beach, with several hotels in front of the beach and other kinds of accommodation. Food and drink alternatives are abundant, as well as nightlife in the bars of the area.
There are also facilities for swimming, sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas) and sea sports.
Access from Rethymnon is possible by public bus, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike; walking from the city center is also a good way to reach the beach. |
