The Monastery is situated at a distance of 12 kilometers from Rethymnon at the East. It has been built during the Venetian domination; the origin of its name is uncertain. The main church, dedicated to Aghios Georghios ( St. George) is a cruciform domed church, built in 1888 on the place of an older one of the 16th century. |
