The cave of Sfendoni (the locals call it "Sfendoni Trypa", i.e. "the hole of Sfendoni") near Zoniana is located at a distance of 47 kilometers far from Rethymnon at the Southeast, on the road to Axos and Anoghia. The cave is open to visitors.

It is very impressive and big, as it has 14 halls with a rich stalactite and stalagmite decoration. Its total length is more than 500 meters and it covers a space of more than 3000 square meters. Here too, there is evidence of human use of the cave from the Neolithic period up to the Minoan times .
