Several alternatives for accommodation are available at the seaside hotels. There are also some bars and taverns at the sea front, offering fresh fish, sea food and local dishes. You will enjoy swimming in the crystal clear, very clean sea and, while your relax or sunbathe, you will have a nice view of the open sea and of the two small islets called “Dyo Adelfi” (“the two brothers”) at the entrance of the bay.
In summer, the Nautical Association of Folegandros gives swimming and sailing classes for children. Apart from that activity, the association also organizes swimming and sailing games, which are part of the cultural events organized on the island in summer.
In any case of emergence, the services of the town of Folegandros (Chora) are available for you (some 3,5 kilometers at the Northwest).
Access from Chora is possible even on foot, especially when descending. The return to Chora from Karavostassi(s) is somehow more tiring as the road is uphill. If you choose to drive, you will spend only a few minutes to reach the beach. And, of course, you may use the taxi, if available, as well as the public bus, running regularly and connecting the port with Chora and Ano Meria. |
