Varsamo beach, Folegandros Island |
The small beach of Varsamo is situated at the northwestern coast of the island, within a small cove and in fact it is not a real beach; it is rather an even rocky coast, in a secluded area with no residents around. Varsamo is one of the most remote beaches of the island. Although open to the northern and western winds, the beach is usually quiet and calm with crystal clear nice sea. Nudism is allowed at the beach, as…nobody will be around to get annoyed. Of course no facilities are available and, if you decide to come here, you should bring along water and provisions for a light meal, as well as your umbrella, since no shade is available on the beach. |

For any problem you should return to the town of Folegandros (Chora). Access to the beach from the sea is possible only by private or rented boat or yatch. You may reach the beach on foot from Ano Meria, following the path that starts at the small church of Chrysopighi. Via this path, it will take approximately an hour to arrive to Varsamo. You may also come on foot from Ambeli, or following the path from Ano Meria to Ambeli (the path departs from the small church of Aghios Panteleimonas. Before arriving to Ambeli, you will turn right and walk another 20-30 minutes to reach the beach of Varsamo. |
