Kalafatis beach in Mykonos Island |
| Along with the nearby beaches of Kalo Livadi and Aghia Anna, Kalafatis is an isolated beach at the south eastern part of the island. 11-12 klm far from Chora and 3,5 klm from Ano Mera, it is one of the biggest and less frequented beaches of Mykonos, since there are only few bus services to it, and access is possible only via Ano Mera. |

| The few taverns offer good food, there are sea sport facilities including
wind surfing and scuba diving, but not much accomodation. A thick series
of trees separates the long beach from the houses of the settlement, offering
the rare for Cyclades shadow. Facing the beach, on the small, “twin” cape
(Venus hills) are evident traces of a prehistoric – protocycladic-
settlement. Access to Kalafatis is possible only by car; bus connection is not very frequent, but you can alsways reach it by taxi, car or motorbike. |
