Drios, Paros Island

The cute coastal settlement of Dryos is situated at a distance of some 22 kilometers far from Paroikia at the Southeast. It is found within a small fertile plain with cultivations of vegetables and vineyards and counts some 200 permanent residents. Being protected from the northern winds, the small port of the settlement is suitable for mooring of small fishing and tourist boats and yachts.

There are several alternatives for accommodation in the settlement and the sea front taverns offer tasty food, delicacies of the local kitchen and a nice view of the islet Dryonissi across.

Swimming is possible at the nice beach in front of the settlement and at the nearby beaches of Lolantonis, Pyrari and Boudarissas.

Some 2 kilometers southern to the settlement within the sea close enough to Cape Pyrgos, it has been detected an ancient settlement. At the port of Dryos you may see the small church of Aghios Nicolaos, the protector saint of the marines. You may also visit the small church of Aghios Ioannis (St. John) and, if you are around on the 29th of August, attend the religious feast in honor of the saint. The feast attracts many visitors both from the area and from other places.

At the beach northern to the settlement you may see the ruins of the ancient dockyards, where the ancient residents of Paros kept their ships during winter to protect or to repair them.

In case of any problem you should address to the corresponding services of the town of Paros (Paroikia), 22 kilometers far away from the settlement at the Northwest.

Access to the beach is easy by rented or private car and motorbikes. If you arrive here by boat or yacht, the small port of the settlement is available for mooring.
