The long sandy beach of Kaminia, situated at a distance of some 5 kilometers northern to the town of Paros (Paroikia), close to the cape of Aghios Fokas at the entrance of the bay or Paroikia, is successive to the beach of Marcello.
The beach is not organized at all, but the sand is fine and the sea crystal clear. As Paroikia is close enough, all the facilities offered in the town are available for you.
Once at the beach, don’t miss to see the small cave of Archilochos; the entrance of the cave is a hole-like rather small opening on the rock, at the almost vertical coast. According to the legends, the famous lyric poet of the Archaic times, came here to be inspired and compose his poems.
In case of emergence, you should address to the corresponding services of the nearby town of Paros (5 kilometers southern to the beach).
Access from Paroikia is easy by taxi, by rented or private car and motorbikes. If you do not wish to use a vehicle, you may catch one of the excursion boats sailing daily from the port of Paroikia to the beach. |
