At the western and southern, hardly accessible, coasts there are several rocky and a few sandy beaches, where access is possible only from the sea, or on foot, via the footpaths leading there. The most important among these beaches at the western coast are Vroulidia with pebbles, Gialloudia (this too a pebbly beach) and the sandy beaches of Tsoha and Vlyhada.

At the southern coast you will find the sandy beaches of Fykiada and Kontos. If you wish to visit some of these beaches, the best way to find your way is to get information from the map of the island, showing the network of footpaths. The map is available in the bookstores and the travel agencies of the island.
