Finikas beach, Syros Island |

The sandy beach of Foinikas is extended along the homonymous summer resort, within a small cove well protected from the “meltemia” (northern summer winds. It is situated some 11 kilometers southwestern to Hermoupolis. Accommodation facilities and other tourist services are available in the settlement. The most characteristic feature of the beach are the numerous fish taverns found just at the beach, with the wave almost to leak them. |

The beach is rather well organized and during the hot hours of the day the swimmers will certainly enjoy the rich shade of the tamarisk trees on the sand. For health problems a local Medical Center is available in the village. |

In any other case you may address to the corresponding services of Hermoupolis, some 11 kilometers far away to the Northeast. Access to the beach from Hermoupolis is easy by public buses, with frequent service, by taxi and by rented or private car and motorbikes. If you get to Foinikas by boat, the small port of Foinikas is suitable for mooring of small boats. |
