The secluded beach of Megale Angali (“the big bosom” in Greek)is situated on the desert island of Gaidaros or Fanari, opposite to Hermoupolis, slightly southwards.
It is an excellent secluded beach on the island with the oldest rotating beacon in the Aegean Sea, constructed in 1834. The lighthouse, all made of stone, is of a height of approximately 30 meters and the staircase in the interior, made of marble, has been designed by the Bavarian architect Erlacher.
Of course, access to this beach is possible only by boat, private or rented. |
