Megas Gialos, Syros Island |
Megas Gialos (meaning “the big beach”) is a coastal summer settlement receiving numerous tourists, situated along the southern coast of the island. The village is found some 12 kilometers southwestern to Hermoupolis and counts some 250 permanent residents, occupied in tourism. |

Several alternatives for accommodation are available in the village, within a nice, quiet environment with lovely beaches. Swimming is really a pleasure either you choose the beach in front of the settlement, or the nearby beaches of Ambela and Tria Lagonia. |

In any case of emergence you should return to the capital Hermoupolis, 12 kilometers northeastern to the settlement. Access to the village is easy by public buses, by taxi and by private means (car or motorbikes). |
