Kolymbia is a very nice beach, pretty well organized, with sunbathing and swimming facilities (sun beds, umbrellas) and sea sports. It attracts many people and it is one of the favorite beaches of German tourists. The sea is very clean, with crystal clear blue water and a nice green landscape around, very nice for taking photos. And, if you like fishing, you will find the ideal place for catching small or bigger fishes.
You will enter the resort via the impressive Eucalyptus’ street, which, as its name notes, is a street with luxuriant green, with tall eucalyptus trees to cover both sides. The street was constructed during the Italian domination of the island. Another characteristic of the place is that most of the streets of the settlement are named after the capital cities of Europe; thus you will find a “London street”, a “Stockholm street” etc.
One of the pros of the resort is that it is situated at half way between two of the most well known, cosmopolitan destinations of the island, Lindos and the town of Rhodes; thus the tourists choosing it can easily access both. Once at the settlement it is worth seeing the stone bridge of river Loutanis, situated some 1 – 2 kilometers northern to Kolymbia. The way to the bridge and farer away, to Afantou, is very nice and scenic, as both sides of the road are covered by luxuriant green and tall trees.
At a distance of some 6 kilometers northern to the settlement you may visit the Holy Monastery of Paramythia.
In case of emergence, a local Medical Center and a pharmacy are available in the nearby village of Archangelos (some 8 kilometers to the South), where you will also find a Police station and a Post office.
Access to Kolymbia is possible by taxi and rented or private car and motorbikes.
