Transportation to Sifnos
The island is serviced by ferryboats and highspeed catamarans.

There are daily connections between Piraeus and Sifnos, practically year round (76 nautical miles, a trip of 6 hours) though in winter there are fewer boats of course. Information: Harbour Master's Office, Piraeus, Tel. +30 210-4226000-4.

During the summer high speed boats frequently leave for Sifnos from Rafina (4 hours 40). Information: Piraeus Agency Tel. +30 210-4224980, Sifnos Agency, Tel. +30 (22840) 31217, 32373.

There are many state-owned buses (KTEL) which run each day from Athens to Rafina from Pedio tou Areos Square. It is 27 km. and takes about one hour. Information: KTEL Athens, Tel. +30 210-8210872.

The buses leave from Artemonas. By way of Apollonia there are frequent departures for Kamares, Kastro, Exambela- Katavati- Faros, Exambela- Katavati- Platys Yialos. Information: Police Tel. +30 22840-31210.

During July and August there are a number of daily connections between Kamares and Vathy. Other parts of the island can be reached on foot or you can also rent a boat. The roads are in good repair.

You can rent a car or a motorbike in Kamares and Apollonia. The taxi number is +30 22840-31347. You can moor your own boat at Kamares, Vathy or at Faros. The first of these snug harbours is also a supply depot for water and fuel and the telephone is +30 22840-31347 and 31777.

Transportation from Sifnos
During the summer Sifnos is connected by the western Cycladic line to los, Kimolos, Kythnos, Milos, Santorini, Serifos, Sikinos and Folegandros. Year round Sifnos is connected by the Aegean Line to Mykonos, Paros and Syros. In the winter there are also connections to Kimolos, Milos and Serifos.
