Apart from the old traditional buildings, it is worth seeing the church of Aghios Dimitrios, with a very interesting stone-carved icon screen, donated to the church by a family of the village.
Very close to Ano Pavliana there are found the traditional scenic villages of Kato Pavliana, with 340 permanent residents, and Pendati (1 kilometer to the North and 3 kilometers to the Northwest, respectively).
Pendati is worth visiting for the interesting church of Panaghia Odigitria (Holy Virgin, “the Leader”) dated to the 19th century, and for the marvelous view of the Ionian Sea.
You will enjoy swimming at the beach of Paramonas and the other beaches of the area. A local feast (“panighyri”) takes place on the 26th of October in honor of Aghios Dimitrios.
In case of health problems a local Medical Center is available at Aghios Matthaeos, 4 kilometers southern to the village. Access from the capital (Corfu, 20 kilometers far away) is easy, by taxi and by rented or private cars and motorbikes.
