Pirgi Village, Corfu |
| Pirgi is a small, quite popular coastal tourist resort, situated at a distance of 17 kilometers Northwestern to the town of Corfu. The settlement counts some 80 permanent residents. |

| When at Pirgi you may visit the small village of Aghios Marcos, 2,5 kilometers western to Pirgi; you will see the interesting wall painting dated to the 16th century at the church of Pantocrator; the church of Aghios Mercourios of the 11th century is also worth seeing. Don’t miss to drive to the scenic villages of Spartylas and Sgourades, 5,5 and 8,5 kilometers northern to Pirgi, respectively; it is also worth making an excursion to the tourist settlement of Barbati at a distance of 2 kilometers eastern to Pirgi. Finally, it is worth spending a whole day at the village of Ano Korakiana (5,5 kilometers western to Pirgi), where you will see several interesting old churches, the old building of the Elementary School, established in 1932 and the traditional building of the Agricultural Cooperation. Once there, it is worth driving up to the villages of Sokraki, 4,5 kilometers northern to Ano Korakiana and the village of Zygos, another two kilometers northern to Sokraki. You will drive in an excellent scenic route and enjoy a marvelous landscape. |

| Accommodation is available within the settlement and in the broader area. A few taverns with good food are available in the village and in the area around. You will enjoy swimming at the beaches of the settlement and the nearby beach of Barbati. A local Medical Center is available at Ano Korakiana, at a distance of 5,5 kilometers western to Pirgi. Access from the capital (Corfu, 17 kilometers) is possible by taxi and by rented or private car and motorbikes. In addition to the taxis from the town of Corfu, local taxis are available in the settlement. |
