Amoudi beach, Zakynthos Island |

The beach of Ammoudi is found at a distance of 5 kilometers Northwestern to the inland village of Gerakari and some 13 kilometers northern to the town of Zakynthos. In fact, although seems a separate organised beach, it is part of the long beach of the eastern coast of the island. Several hotels of any category, studios and rooms to let are available for accommodation, at the beach or at the nearby tourist resorts, open from the Easter period (April or May) until October. |

For food and drink you will find several taverns with a good variety of dishes of local and international cooking. The visitor will enjoy swimming, sunbathing and sea sports at this well organised beach, which, as its name evidences (“ammoudia” means “sandy beach” in Greek) has nice sand. For health problems, you may address to the Health Services of the capital Zakynthos, 13 kilometers far away at the South. Access from the town of Zakynthos is easy by taxi, by rented and private cars and motorbikes. At Kavos, the port of Gerakari, there is a small port, available for mooring of small fishing and tourist boats in case of bad weather. |
