Banana beach, Zakynthos Island |

The beach of Banana is the bigger sandy beach in the whole island. It is found at a distance of some 11,5 kilometers southern to the town of Zakynthos at the peninsula of Vassiliko. Situated within an area with many alternatives for accommodation, the beach offers several alternatives for accommodation and food in the area around, but at the same time is far enough from the heart of the popular and crowded settlements. The only facilities of this kind offered at the beach itself are a couple of snack bars for cool refreshments and a light meal. |

Apart from the nice sand and the crystal clear sea, you will enjoy facilities for sunbathing and sea sports. The sea is shallow and ideal for families with small children. In case of health problems, all Health Services of the town of Zakynthos are close enough (some 11,5 kilometers to the North). Access to the beach is easy from the town of Zakynthos by taxi or by rented and private car and motorbikes. Following the signs on the central road, you will turn left after 11 kilometers (after Argassi and before Porto Roma), and drive on a wide dirt track; after you have crossed a thick pine wood, you will arrive at the beach. |
