The beach of Makrys Gialos is really magic, a paradise on earth, sandy and partly pebbly. When you see it for the first time, you will certainly think that it is part of a painting depicting dreamy landscapes. The beach is situated 31 kilometers northern to the town of Zakynthos.

Less organised, the beach offers only a couple of snack bars for a refreshment and light meals.

No accommodation facilities are available at the beach itself, but you will not have a problem, as there are several alternatives of lodging in the settlements and villages around.

What is worth of at this beach is the sea. When you see it, you will certainly think to take as much photos as possible, so that you keep this wonderful place in your memory forever. The beach is pretty wide, with pebbles at parts and the seawater is so cool and transparent that you may think that there is no water at all when looking down to the seabed. The sea gets deep soon enough and the seabed is sandy and at parts rocky, with plenty of multi-color fishes and sea plants.

After this, it goes without saying that the fans of snorkeling and diving will adore the place, a real paradise for such activities.

For health problems, a local Medical Center is available at Volimes, some 10 kilometers at the West. In Aghios Nicolaos, also close enough, you will find a Police Station.
