The beach Porto Roma, named after the old noble family of Roma, whose property used to be the area around. It is situated at a distance of 17 kilometers far from the town of Zakynthos; it is a sandy with pebbles in parts and a small port suitable for small boats.
The beach has golden sand, shallow and calm sea, suitable for children. It is usually quiet, especially in the morning. It seems that people is more attracted by the nearby beach of Gerakas.
Although not very crowded the beach offer some facilities: you will find a beach bar for coffee and refreshments and three small taverns for a good lunch.
In case of health problems, you should address to the Health Services of the town of Zakynthos.
Access is easy from Zakynthos (17 kilometers far away) by taxi, or by rented or private car and motorbikes. It is also easy to reach the beach from other places around (Vassiliko, Argassi, Laganas etc.). If you have a yacht, you may access the beach also from the sea. |
