Gregorios Xenopoulos’ Museum |
Gregorios Xenopoulos one of the most well known Greek authors of the early 20th century was of Zantiote origin. The house he spent his childhood in Zante became a museum in 1998. It is a nice two-storeyed building, in Gaita Street, at the quarter of Faneromeni. |

The Museum houses several manuscripts of the author, several editions of his works, a good collection of photos and copies of the magazine “Diaplasis ton Paidon”, a long-lived (1879-19) magazine for young people, whose Xenopoulos was the director for many years. The second floor houses original furniture and personal objects from Xenopoulos’ family house and from the house of his daughter Euthalia Xenopoulou-Natsiou, author too, and her husband Christophoros Natsios, sculptor. |
