Αmbelos, Samos Island |
Western to Aghios Constantinos, after you have left the main road and driven for some 4 kilometers on an uphill road full of curves, you will arrive to Ambelos (the name means “vineyard” in Greek). It is a traditional village climbing on a steep mountainside, with current waters and lush vegetation of fructiferous trees and vineyards; the village has an excellent view of the northern coast of Samos and the coast of Asia Minor across. |

In the past the village was called “Nenedes”, after the surname of the first settlers. Ambelos counts less than 400 permanent residents, the nearby small settlements included. For any problem, you should return to the capital town of Samos, some 22 kilometers far from the village to the West. Access to the village is easy by rented or private car and motorbikes. |
