Balos beach, Samos Island |

Balos is a 400 meters long beach with big pebbles, situated at a distance of some 40 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos. The beach is found at the southwestern coast of the island, within the bay of Marathokambos, close to the well known beach of Psili Ammos; it is well protected from the winds and the sea is very clean and deep. Several alternatives for accommodation are available in the area around and the seafront tavern at the beach will offer to you full meals and refreshments before or after swimming. |

The beach is not organized at all, but it is ideal for a relaxing swim in calmness, far away from the capital town of Samos. In case of health problems you should return to the nearby village of Pyrgos (some 13 kilometers eastern to Ballos), where you will find a local Medical Center and a pharmacy. Access to the beach from the town of Samos is easy by private means (car and motorbikes) via the settlement of Koumaeika. |
