The 1000-meters-long beach at the port of Karlovasi is a sandy beach with fine sand, situated at a distance of some 32 kilometers southwestern to the capital town of Samos, in front of the town of Karlovasi, beside the port. The sea is pretty shallow, but it is totally unprotected from the northern winds which raise high waves when blowing. A few moles divide the beach in smaller parts.

Several alternatives for accommodation are available close to the beach and in the area around; the coffee bars, restaurants and snack bars of the port offer many choices for food and drink.

The beach is not organized at all, but it is ideal for a quick dive if you don’t wish to leave Karlovasi for swimming.

In case of health problems a local Medical Center and a pharmacy are available for the visitors. You will also find a Police Station, a Post and Telecommunications Office as well as a Port Authorities’ Station.
